Whichever precise dates mark the beginning and end of your period of study, we have tour programmes to suit your needs.
For the period up to 1917, St Petersburg is a must. The Tsars' capital city contains palaces, churches and waterfronts essential to an understanding of the story of absolute monarchy and of revolution. If your studies go forward to 1945 or beyond, then the story of the 900-day siege is related with both sadness and pride.
For the years of Communist power, Moscow is the place to visit. From the stations of the Metro built in Stalin's times to the centre of power in the Kremlin and to Red Square, our groups learn how the Soviet Union projected itself both abroad and to its own citizens.
It is possible to visit either city or to combine the two with a rail transfer between.
